This question is one that is best answered with a phone call. There are many variables involved to determine the answer. The water flow, depth, seasonal water levels and sizes of fish already in pond if any, and of course the budget
We like to see at least 10' depth during the lowest water levels, the deeper the water level the colder and more oxygenated the water will be
Because of the lack of supply and the high demand for fish we will take orders a year in advance. I would say that around the first of the year is a good time.
Generally speaking between may and the end of June is our optimum time frame to deliver the fish.
We find this particular size of fish has several advantages. for one , they are a catchable size right from delivery and will be a good size by the end of the year. If you have larger fish in the pond this size fish wont become bait for the bigger fish as would the smaller sizes.
Typically not. Trout require clean gravel beds with a good water flow through the beds. When the eggs are laid they sink down between the voids of the individual stones and are protected. Ponds usually allow sediment to settle to the pond floor and will then fill those voids. Fish sense this and will not attempt to lay the eggs but will instead reabsorb them. Though not impossible , in our experience it is not very common.
